Support for Students & Families
The Jefferson Family Foundation is committed to assisting students and their families to shrink educational, and socio-economic barriers. We understand that first-generation and low-income students and families; Black males; and other diverse populations have significant barriers that may prohibit them from enrolling and/or succeeding in college.
We are committed to provide mentoring and support services to assist students and families succeed. Below are our current support program.
Middle School
Leaders In Focused Engagement (L.I.F.E.) Skills
This program provides social skills for action mentoring for students. Some of the topics we would cover with the students include building self-confidence & self-respect, setting positive goals, managing stress and emotions, motivating yourself and assessing their values.
High School
Path To Success
This program provides college access related mentoring for first-generation seniors their families. Mentoring would include topics such as applying to college, selecting the right college to attend, financial aid/FAFSA completion, scholarships, and other related topics.
